Merwin Special kids Day
GoPAW is partnering with Pacific Power and Light and WDFW to provide this special event held at the Merwin Hatchery, located on the Lewis River in Western Washington.

Merwin Special Kids Day
The Merwin Special Kids' Day event lures Children with disabilities from Doernbecher Children's Hospital, Emanuel Legacy, Kaiser Kids and Shriners hospitals, as well as other special-needs children. Sponsored by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), Pacific Power, GoPAW. The wheelchair-accessible hatchery waters are planted with trout ranging in size from 1 to 9 pounds. Volunteers served as one-on-one fishing coaches assisting youngsters throughout the day. Rods, reels, tackle and T-shirts are provided for the young anglers to use and keep. A free barbecue lunch is served; activities included face painting and storytelling.
